Private South Coast Tours
Travel along the scenic coastal and country roads of the Illawarra region. Visit beachside and inland villages for an insight into regional communities past and present. Our private South Coast tours are exclusively for your group, so you can focus on the places and activities most of interest to you. Optional activities include swimming, coastal walks and the chance to visit local tourist attractions, including a wildlife park and an aviation museum.
Departing from Sydney CBD locations at 7:45am, this tour first takes you along the scenic Grand Pacific Drive. We take in views of the coast from a number of vantage points and see the famous Sea Cliff Bridge. No matter what the weather is like, a walk or drive along the bridge is seen by many as a must-do activity in the region. As we continue our drive down the coast, we pass through some typical Aussie coastal communities centred around the wonderful beaches and rock pools.
Veering inland slightly for a slight contrast in landscapes, we pass through the picturesque farmland of the Jamberoo region. The narrow lanes with their stone walls are unique to the area. A stop at a lookout gives us incredible views across the countryside and coastline. Next, we head to Kiama, one of the South Coast’s most pleasant coastal towns. Boutique stores and heritage buildings line the town’s peaceful bay and headland. See the famous Blowhole, a natural phenomenon where, when the conditional are right, the sea shoots up through a gap in the black volcanic rock.
We stay in Kiama for lunch. A range of boutique cafes and restaurants cater for most tastes and budgets. Glenn will discuss lunch options with you and make reservations where necessary. After lunch, we visit Wollongong, the regions commercial and industrial heart. We take a relaxing stroll along the “Blue Mile”, a serene waterfront precinct along the tranquil harbour and town beaches. From here, we return to Sydney, arriving around 4.45pm.
