Hargraves Lookout is a bit of a way further out from the well-known spots around Katoomba, but it’s one of my favourite viewpoints in the Blue Mountains. Particularly delightful in the late afternoon-early evening (as many places in the Blue Mountains area), this lookout affords great views of the Megalong and Kanimbla Valleys. Cleared land is apparent on the valley floor instead of the unbroken tree canopy found in other valleys nearby. While out this way it’s worth driving down into the Megalong Valley, where you can stop for a bite at the Megalong Valley Tearooms or perhaps go for a wine tasting at Dryridge Estate.
