Hunter Valley Gardens—Itinerary Option

Spectacular seasonal colours at the Hunter Valley Gardens

Hunter Valley Gardens is the ideal tour stop for a beautiful garden stroll.

Here at Country Trails, we love showing our guests around the beautiful Hunter Valley. While the region is most famous for private wine-tasting tours, there’s so much more to see when you visit this picturesque destination! One of our favourites to visit while we tour is the gorgeous Hunter Valley Gardens.

Set against the stunning Brokenback Range, the Hunter Valley Gardens offer over 60 acres of beautiful landscaped gardens. Easily included in your day tour from Sydney, the gardens are a delightful and relaxing itinerary option. Our guests love the spectacular variety offered by ten separate feature gardens, each carefully designed with its own distinct theme.

You can explore the gardens as you like over eight miles of walking paths, or hop on the train for a relaxing guided tour. Everybody can decide for themselves how to best enjoy this unique attraction. With Country Trails, you get the very best the Hunter Valley Gardens have to offer!

Feature Gardens

The central attraction at the Hunter Valley Gardens is its selection of ten feature gardens, each creating a distinct and unique world. Whether you prefer the tranquility of the Oriental Garden and Chinese Moongate Garden, or the romance of the Lakes Walk and Rose Garden, the feature gardens offer something for every taste. Browse them all, or just relax while taking in the atmosphere in your personal favourite.

If you’re travelling with children, then the Storybook Garden is a must-see adventure. Filled with beloved nursery rhyme characters and beautiful storybook murals, this garden is perfect for the little ones. The kids will love exploring their favourite stories while taking photos with life-sized fairytale friends.

Special Events

Throughout the year, the gardens also stage exciting events like outdoor concerts, school holiday programs, and seasonal attractions sure to entertain the whole family. The gardens offer many popular recurring attractions, including the Mega Creatures dinosaur exhibit, Easter Holidays egg hunt and also the Snow Time winter playground.

Explore the Village

Surrounding the gardens is a boutique shopping village featuring a selection of local cafĂ©s, artworks and artisan crafts. With every shop owner-occupied, the village offers a great chance to sample local wares and also take home unique souvenirs. The local produce is especially popular, so don’t miss the chance to try some traditional handmade cheeses, chocolates and more.

Not one for shopping? Then just relax and enjoy the village green, barbecue and picnic ground. With a cosy village atmosphere, it’s perfect for a lunch time picnic.
