Conveniently located just off the motorway between Sydney and the Hunter Valley wine region, Australia Walkabout Wildlife Park is a worthwhile stop-off on the way to the wineries.
Set on 80 acres of protected land, the park has a nice open plan setting with many animals free to roam. There is a wide range of the native Australian animals overseas visitors like to see – kangaroos, koalas, emus and many more. On our tour group visits we are able to include a private 10-minute koala “speed date” where a park ranger takes the group for a close encounter with this much-loved Aussie creature.
Refreshments are available so guests can refuel before continuing the journey to the Hunter Valley or returning to Sydney.
